chicken divan!

literally….the best thing i have ever made in my entire life. it is so delicious, wonderful, melt-in-your-mouth kind of good. i promise if you have any sort of taste buds this will be at the top of your comfort food list.


4 chicken breasts

2 heads of broccoli

5 tablespoons all purpose flour

2 cups scalded milk

1 cup parmesan

1 cup gruyere

3 tbs sherry

salt & pepper



1. add chicken to a large pot, cover with water, sprinkle with salt and pepper. cover the pot and bring to a boil. once boiling, bring it down to a simmer and cook until done.

2. once cooked, remove from pot, but save the broth. cool the chicken and cut it into cubes.

3. stem the broccoli into florets. put back in the pot of chicken broth and bring to a boil. cook until bright green and slightly tender.

4. preheat oven to 375 degrees. in thick pan, melt butter. add flour and whisk until well-mixed. pour in scalded milk and cook on low until thickened. mix in grated parmesan and grated gruyere until smooth. add sherry, salt and pepper.

5. in medium sized casserole dish, layer chicken, broccoli and cheese. repeat. bake in the oven for 35-40 mins until casserole is browning on the top.


wala! so so so divine!
